Hair & Beauty

Hair & Beauty is a practical and creative course that allows students to develop professional skills within our purpose-built salon. It is ideal for students who enjoy working with people,  being creative and learning through practical experience.  

 

Throughout the course students develop skills in shampooing,  conditioning, styling, customer care, health and safety and a  range of introductory hairdressing and beauty techniques. As confidence grows, students will have opportunities to develop  their creativity while working to professional standards. 

 

Hair & Beauty offers careers in hairdressing, barbering, beauty therapy, salon management, retail, theatre and television, media styling and self-employment. The qualification also provides an excellent route into apprenticeships and further education. 

 

Students work towards the VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Hair & Beauty Skills through practical observations and the successful completion of individual units throughout the course.
